empowering you to say no to anything that won't bring your beauty and strengths to life
An actress friend asked me some years back if I didn't get bored working with corporate clients. And if I wouldn't love to work private clients who are 'creatives'. My answer....all my clients are creatives....whether artist or engineer, manager or musician. They struggle not with a lack of creativity but a lack of structure, a way to sort all the inspirational images floating around in their head. Most women are overwhelmed by the staggering amount of images they encounter, online and in stores.
It is essential to externalise and sort the inspiration you are carrying around. As long as it remains inside, it swirls around, making it difficult to decide what works for you and what doesn't, what you need and what not. The answer is a system that sorts all your seemingly random inspiration into a clear, useful and enlightening structure that becomes your personal style language. I am so passionate about connecting the style dots in others lives because I struggled for a long time not understanding my unique style language. Fluency in my style language transformed how truthfully and confidently I am able to express my strengths and personal beauty. And took me on a quest to develop a method that would allow me to to teach others what I took such a long time to master.
In the late 70's I did a two year fashion diploma in Toronto and loved learning how to use the knitting machine, draft patterns, drape and prepare for a fashion show. But felt lost when it was time for fashion illustration because these super long legged slim hipped women were literally worlds away from how I was built. Years later I moved to Milan, where I lived for eleven years. There at Marangoni and St Paulus I encountered a similar situation. Again, I loved the learning, being surround by extra-ordinary craftsmanship and design. But often wondered why I was drawing women so unlike me.
And when I moved to Berlin I let go of the world of fashion. I let go of of everything I had learnt regarding fashion trends and seasons, and especially the ideal body to dress. My time spent in Berlin as a presentation trainer freed me from fashion. And I became focused on the connection between powerful authenticity ...visually and verbally. Out of my pain point a new idea was born, bringing women's strengths and beauty to life through wardrobe. Because I observed that identifying strengths is crucial to communicating them impactfully. Identifying your beauty and naming the lines, shapes and colors found within you allows you to become a discerning shopper and that....
"the more you know, the less you need, the better you can buy, so the more truthfully you can express who you are"
the more the self-aware you are...the better you shop and communicate
