I broke my nose last Tuesday. Downtown on the Kudamm to buy thread, I had stopped to look at a dress in a window that was very similar to one I had seen in Milan the previous week. I stood staring, trying to figure out if it was silk or viscose.  Wondering what could it be. Finally I decided since the door was open to go in and touch the fabric.. AND BOOM.

I got a mail yesterday from a French client asking if we could have a session on presentation do's and don'ts for her upcoming work in Germany. We have worked together over the past year on her professional style and this will be a chance for her to even more clearly articulate her purpose. Clients come to me for two reasons...some because they want to increase their impact and influence….

You may be an introverted person needing to communicate with impact. Or possibly a more extroverted person who wants to be present at a particular event but on this day don"t have the energy required to wear bright colors. I am just back from an inspiring Milan trip...and was touched by the Paoli Roversi exhibition at Corso Como 10. It was a poetic collection….

Diana Vreeland once said the eye cannot love what it isn't used to. That is what I love about my work...getting to show women how wonderfully and fearfully they are made....getting them used to seeing themselves that way. Because often they don't see it all their treasures. On the plane back from Vancouver I read David and Goliath from Malcom Gladwell….

Some years ago my son's class puzzled about why the new art teacher wore a black suit and t-shirt everyday. One youngster plucked up the courage to ask and received this answer " I choose black because I want my art to communicate but I remain neutral". Is that possible my son queried. Of course my answer was no...we can not NOT communicate. Every outfit sends a message. 

My New Year's walk around Whittle Lake on Vancouver Island affirmed the importance of being refreshed by beauty.  We were in a treasure chest of mother nature's jewels: iced droplets on branches resembling Elsa Peretti's diamonds by the yard. Shades of green to copious to count: peridot, tourmaline, jade. We were in a space that enchanted our souls…..
