An actress friend asked me some years back if I didn't get bored working with corporate clients. And if I wouldn't  love to work with 'creatives'. No was my very clear answer. I am never bored....my magician archetype knows that inside everything seemingly ordinary is something extraordinary waiting to find its way to the light. Because each of us is full of  inspiring images.

I remember so  vividly a fashion crush moment at the Marangoni fashion school in Milan. It was the early eighties, she was a classmate in the fashion illustration class. The object of my crush was one particular ensemble, a cobalt blue mens cardigan, white shirt, black cigarette jeans, white socks and black ballerinas. I don't remember being fascinated by any other outfit but this one touched me deeply.

This quote by Mary Lou Cook fits perfectly to my experience of Gucci Garden in Florence. I experienced Allessandro Michele's freedom to experiment, break rules and have fun. This colourful inspiring place felt immediately quite familiar, like wandering into an Berlin second hand shop....where clothes and furniture rest side by side.

I love beautiful images but the sheer amount available overwhelming and even exhausting.  Everyone has a different capacity to process visual imagery and learning to selectively edit prevents you from becoming submerged under other peoples outfits and choices. Just as with clothing buying less but better creates a more focused style so it is also true with all the beautiful photos available.

Confidence doesn't start when you walk into the meeting or interview but when you open your closet and intentionally decide what your agenda is and how you need to achieve it: by listening, by powerfully stating your case, by showing empathy etc. Solution-oriented thinking requires looking at yourself in the mirror and describing what you see in positive terms.

Creating a personal color palette isn't about choosing right or wrong colors. The process of creating a palette of your genetic portrait colors and your souls colors goes much deeper to reveal who you are. This process takes you into a new world where you learn self acceptance of your genetic makeup and are inspired by how harmoniously your soul colors relate to your natural self.  If chic is about successfully combining clothing and accessories...elegance is you shining though. Elegance reduces clothing and accessories to the essential...so the woman is seen first.
